Swiss Chicken Strata
- 6 cups French bread cut into 1/2-inch cubes, divided
- 1 1/2 cups Gruyere or Swiss cheese (about 6 ounces), divided
- 1 1/2 cups chopped cooked chicken or turkey
- 3/4 cup chopped red or green bell pepper
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 Cup Dijon Mustard
Layer 3 cups bread cubes, 1 cup cheese, chicken or turkey and chopped
pepper in greased 2-quart oblong baking dish; top with remaining
bread cubes. Whisk together eggs, milk and mustard in medium bowl
until combined. Pour mixture over bread layer, being careful to
moisten all of the bread. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover;
refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Bake at 325¡F for
45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let
stand for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish as desired.
