Hunter S. Thompson is a man with a mission. Unfortunately he has not let the rest of the world in on what that would be. He is a visionary author that tells it like it is, but usually with a twist of mayhem in some sort of personal experience. Thompson's recommended books include "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Generations of Swine", and "The Rum Diaries" among others. He has also been a contributing writer to "Rolling Stone Magazine", "The San Francisco Examiner", "ESPN Online", and the television series "Nash Bridges".
Thompson's writings are usually from a personal perspective with a great deal of tongue in cheek decadence thrown in. There are no sacred cows to Thompson as he his a scholar of the 60's and the beatnick generation. He likes to take shots at the establishment, and sometimes even those who claim to be fellow rebels. Thompson's early books also have a great deal of Drug addled mayhem to fuel the fires of adventure.
One of Thompson's most infamous adventures turned out to print was when he was the first journalist to ride for a year with the "Hell's Angels". The adventure ended when Thompson turned afoul of the group and was savagely beaten. The book written on the subject was entitled "Hell's Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga."
